On Thursday the 6th of April, Wera Hobhouse, Member of Parliament for Bath, visited Mayden, a leading health tech solutions company.
The visit aimed to explore digital solutions for mental health treatment and to address the growing concern of digital poverty in the community.
Hobhouse engaged in discussions with Mayden representatives about the potential of digital services to help address NHS waiting times and provide more accessible mental health care. The Bath-based Mayden’s software is currently used by 200 services, including 100 NHS organisations.
As part of the ongoing effort to make health services more accessible, they discussed how citizens can access and understand their own health information, including via the NHS app and patient portals.
Alongside local leaders from across the city, both parties also addressed the issue of digital poverty, emphasising the importance of industry and charity partners working together to reduce the digital divide in Bath. Hobhouse plans to attend the Bath Digital Festival in July to further discuss digital poverty and its impact on the community.

In the face of poor government planning and staffing shortages, the NHS has been grappling with an escalating waiting-times crisis. Mayden is at the forefront of making this a reality for the Bath community.”
